The expansion of the board of directors will help create necessary additional personnel structures to develop the enterprise into a leading equity firm for digital companies. CEO Daniel Wild will be delegating parts of his area of responsibility to Manfred Danner as part of the expansion. The reorganisation of the board comes in response to the fact that Daniel Wild holds the roles of CEO for both ECA and Mountain Partners AG.
Manfred Danner has been instrumental in the restructuring of Ecommerce Alliance AG as part of an investment group since 2010, and was in that capacity responsible for more than 40 ECA holdings. His specific focus was on the group assets in the areas of M&A and Legal. The business graduate and legal expert previously held leadership positions in renowned industry and technology companies like Einhell Germany AG.
“We are excited to appoint Manfred Danner to the board of director – a long-term and deserving colleague”, says Tim Schwenke, chairman of the ECA’s advisory board. “The majority acquisition by our new strategic shareholder Mountain Partners AG opens up entirely new development opportunities for ECA. We need to adjust our business structures in order to properly meet growth and the associated challenges, which is why we decided to expand our board of directors”, continued Schwenke.
Daniel Wild, CEO of Ecommerce Alliance AG added: “His very high professional competence and the great regard in which investors and the teams at our holdings hold him make Manfred Danner the perfect choice for the position of COO. I am confident that we will be able to handle the new challenges for our group of companies based on the redistribution of tasks in our newly expanded team.
Justine Wonneberger, CFO of Ecommerce Alliance AG, added: “We are excited to begin a new chapter in our business history with this expansion, and am certain that manfred Danner will be contributing greatly as me move forward.”
The newly strengthened partnership between ECA and Mountain Partners has significantly expanded the holdings portfolio of ECA and the strategic opportunities of both companies. The latest step in the cooperation is the now implemented complete take-over of a key holdings portfolio of Mountain Partners (Mountain Internet AG) by ECA. Within the scope of this transaction, Mountain Partners AG has increased its share in ECA to 50.1%. ECA will in future follow a three-step strategy. This strategy encompasses company building, venture capital asset management and the development of mature digital companies.
