'- Option to acquire majority holdings in Libute GmbH secured
- Established B2C online shop for professional hair care products with over 100,000 customers
- High development potential as a strong digital partner for premium brands in the hair care market
Munich, April 12, 2016 – Ecommerce Alliance AG (ECA) (ISIN DE000A12UK08), an Entry Standard listing at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, has acquired holdings with Libute GmbH as part of an operative investment strategy. The holdings in the premium online shop Libute.de mean a further expansion for ECA in their high-end e-commerce and lifestyle segment, and an addition to their existing investment in the meta fashion platform mybestbrands and the online magazine promipool.
Libute is a German e-commerce company, which sells professional hair care and cosmetics products via its premium online shop Libute.de. The company offers their loyal customer base a broad product spectrum of brands usually sold exclusively by hairdressers.
ECA has initially secured a minority stake in Libute with the additional option to take over the majority interest and consolidate at a later time.
The ECA service team has already initiated extensive optimisation measures, e.g. outsourcing the logistics of Libute.de to the ECA fulfilment service provider getlogics (getlogics.de). Additionally, the ECA online marketing specialists at eMinded (eminded.de) are in the process of optimising the online marketing business unit at Libute.
Martin Blöchinger, the former managing director of the online flight search engine swoodoo, has joined the management team of Libute GmbH to add important support. His team is now tasked with positioning Libute.de as an online expert in the premium hair care segment. “We are very happy to have gained an all-round expert for e-commerce and online marketing in Martin Blöchinger. With his many years of experience and outstanding enthusiasm, he will support our ambitious growth objectives for Libute.de”, says Daniel Wild, Chief Executive Officer at Ecommerce Alliance AG.
Libute is ECA’s first new investment in the current business year. “This involvement is the result of our strategic approach to penetrate an exciting niche market with a young and dynamic company”, explains Daniel Wild. Libute has an online shop with over 100,000 customers and is therefore already a strong market player.
ECA restructured their business model last year to focus on e-commerce companies with a high value add potential that can be improved quickly on the basis of ECA Service’s functional expertise. Overall, we will focus on expanding the profitable business units “Services” and “Brands” via organic growth and reinforcing their impact with further acquisitions. 2016 promises to become an exciting year for ECA and its shareholders”, says Daniel Wild with conviction.
